Take Dictation

Take Dictation is a Mac dictation application that inserts recognized speech at the current cursor position. Users hold a chosen talk key, or toggle listening, speak and release the key to insert the text. Transcription runs on the Mac, and the site says voice recordings and transcripts are not uploaded. Cleanup uses fixed rules rather than chatbot rewriting, removing fillers and adding punctuation and capitalization. Spoken corrections, remembered custom words and optional email formatting are included. The application requires an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 26 or later and supports English. A fully featured fourteen-day trial precedes a one-time purchase.
