MindLM is a mind map generator for people who study from long material such as research papers, eBooks, lecture videos and long articles. It reads the source and returns its outline as a mind map, keeping the author's chapter structure, so a methods section stays apart from the results. Every node is plain text you can rename or fold, and maps export as Markdown, PNG or XMind, so an outline moves easily into Obsidian, Notion or XMind. Screenshots and slides work as input too, with OCR for printed text (handwriting is not supported), and maps come out in the source language by default with nine output languages to choose from. Students can try it with no account — three maps of up to 5,000 characters each — and a free account adds PDF and eBook upload and 10 credits; Pro is $4.99 a month. MindLM states that it never uses your content to train AI models. The honest trade-offs: a generated map is a starting point, not a substitute for reading, and very dense or poorly structured sources can produce uneven outlines. For getting the shape of a long document before diving in, it saves real time.
